The Dark Realm. In this horrible place, monsters come here for refuge after dealing with the humans. Once they are done with their duties in the Human Realm, the monsters simply go through a portal to come here. No human in their right mind would dare try and find this place. If they did... who knows what horrors would be there waiting?

Inside a large, dark castle, that stood eerily over a large town, a figure with flaming hair could be seen walking towards the throne room. Two guards with black and red hooded robes blocked his path with their spears. "Who are you? And state you business," one of the guards said in a deep voice.

The figure glared at the guards. "Fools. Do you not know your own Dark Lord? It is I, Lord Severo."

The guards gasped, and stood straight. "My lord," the guard on the right said, "the Dark One is discussing business with his commander. No disrespect, but we can not let you enter without--"

Suddenly, Severo reached out his hand, as an invisible force strangled that one guard. "I will not tolerate disobedience. You will let me in, or else you'll feel the base of your pathetic skull broken." The struggling guard pressed the button on his spear, opening the large door. Severo grinned and let his invisible hold on the guard go.

"Thank you for your services," the dark creature sneered. Inside; large, red eyes could be seen in the middle of the throne room from above. The throne room itself had a dark energy with flames around and pillars as well. In the middle, stood none other than Slender Man. The faceless creature glanced back. Even though he had no face, Severo could feel a glare from him.

"Severo," Slender Man said.

"Slender Man," Severo replied with a sly grin.

After standing on the opposite side of Slender Man, Severo bowed. "My lord. I deeply apologize for disturbing you. I have news from one of my minions."

The Dark One looked down at Severo. Then, he spoke with a metallic, whisper-like voice. "Oh? And what is it you wish to speak of?"

Severo stood back up. "My sources told me that the boy, Jake Lovell, has been last seen with the one known as Max Taylor."

"Impossible... Taylor was destroyed by one of the Z-Infected."

"Unlikely, my lord. He is a skilled man after all," Severo replied.

Slender Man chuckled. "It's not like you would've destroyed him and his colleagues anyway."

"For your information, 'Blank-Face', I would've destroyed him if it weren't for other businesses I had to intend to."

"Who're you calling--!" Slender Man started, but was interrupted.

"ENOUGH!! Severo. Have three of the Z-Infected go and search for this young man. Bring the boy here. And if Taylor gets in the way... kill him." Severo grinned and bowed. "As you will, my lord." After that, Severo left the throne room. The Dark One's eyes looked down at Slender Man. "You, Slender Man, will take Jeff and Masky to Melody's house. I feel that if you deal with his mother, the boy's powers will be unleashed."

Slender Man bowed. "Of course, my lord. We will not fail you."

"I hope not, for your sake," the Dark One hissed.

On campus, it was becoming dusk. Some students stayed out while others went to a party or inside their dorms. Jake and Max could be seen walking in the park on campus.

"So... how do you know my mother?" the young man asked. Max chuckled warmly.

"Your mother was a student of mine. I trained her and others to defeat demons and monsters that harmed innocent people." Jake grinned and looked at Max. "Like demon hunters?" Max shrugged. "You could say that. We specialized in weapons, tactics, and combat. That is... until the Dark One's power grew stronger. We were forced to separate and live normal lives."

Jake glanced at Max. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Dark One? Okay, when I was little, my mom told me that there were no such things as monsters. But now... you're telling me that there are monsters and a... 'Dark One' out there?"

Max stopped and sighed. "Yes. Jake, you are mankind's only hope to protect this world. Or as we hunters call 'The Human Realm'. See, there are three Realms: First, The Light Realm, in which good, ethereal beings reside in. Second, the Human Realm, which we're in now. Lastly, the Dark Realm. Demons and monsters live there. These are the different dimensions we travel to."

The young man looked down skeptically. "So... is there like a portal to go to these realms?"

"Yes. But in order to get through the portals, you must either perform a ritual or have powers to create them."

Jake stared at the old man with a surprised look. He then laughed. "Okay, dude. Am I being punked?"

Max looked at Jake with a frown. "What? No! Jake, this is not a game. Your world is in great danger. We need you to step up and accept your destiny!"

"Look, sir, my only destiny is to finish college and become an artist. I appreciate the help, but... all of this is weird to me. Sorry, but you're gonna have to find someone else to help you on your 'Lord of the Rings' quest."

As soon as Jake turned to leave, Max sensed something wrong in the area. All of a sudden, a long, black tongue stretched out towards Jake from behind! Max quickly took out his katana from his back scabbard and jumped towards the tongue, slashing it in half. A shriek could be heard as the tongue slid back in the tree nearby.

Jake glanced back. "What the heck?!" Max stood in front of the young man, glaring with his katana in hand. "Show yourself, demon!"

Three Z-Infected monsters came out and hissed, standing a few feet from the two. Jake gasped in horror. Never in his life have he seen such horrible things. "M-M-Max...?"

"I know, boy. Just stick close to me and you won't be harmed."
